General Requirements:
The Journal of American Science is
multi-disciplinary in its coverage, publishing manuscripts on a wide range of theoretical and applied topics
in science including areas in
natural and social
sciences. Papers to be considered
for publication on the Journal
must make original contributions reporting new information pertaining to
a field in science. A manuscript should advance knowledge on a subject or promote a better understanding of existing concepts.
Types of Submissions:
Original submissions may be in the form of Articles, Reviews,
technical Notes, or thesis
abstracts. Articles represent original research results. Reviews are in depth reviews of a particular topic or field. Notes are short articles that report on brief but complete projects, significant observations, or are preliminary findings of continuing projects that warrant rapid publication.
The editor or an associate editor will normally scrutinize submitted manuscripts. Submissions which meet the Journal's criteria will be sent to two or more referees for peer review.
Submission Procedures:
Authors should submit an electronic copy of their manuscript in
a single Microsoft Word file to the editor in order to facilitate a more rapid review. The journal
may take a 1-3 month review time from distribution to the associate editor
and review panel to contacting the author with review results.
Authors must include a cover letter briefly outlining the significance of the study and suggesting 4 or 5 potential reviewers including their full first and last names, full mailing address, contact phone and fax numbers, and the e-mail address.
To avoid a potential conflict of
interest, authors should not
select their co-authors and/or collaborators on
their (or co-authors') current or recent research, colleagues at
their (or co-authors') university or institute, etc. Important

Page Charges:
Author(s) should pay the page charges
($35 USD per page) if their papers are
accepted to be published on the
Journal of American Science. Hardcopy reprints will not be
provided since author(s) can
download their published papers
from our web site. Hardcopy of the
journal issues can be ordered at a
rate of $20 USD per copy plus shipping
and handling fees.
